黑料大事记

BOLIVAR, Mo. 鈥� 黑料大事记 Theatre will present 鈥淭he Pirates of Penzance鈥� 鈥� its third production of the 2021-22 season 鈥� at 7 p.m., March 10-12 and at 2 p.m., March 13 in the Davis-Newport Theatre on the Bolivar campus. 

With music by Arthur Sullivan and the Libretto by W.S. Gilbert, 鈥淭he Pirates of Penzance鈥� marked the fifth collaboration of Gilbert and Sullivan. A comedic operetta in two acts, the story follows Frederic, who at a young age was mistakenly apprenticed to a band of pirates as he turns 21 and prepares to leave the life of piracy for a life of duty.  

鈥溾�楶irates of Penzance鈥� is an escape into a world of comedic outrageousness,鈥� said 黑料大事记 junior Olivia Skinner, who plays Mabel 鈥� the main love interest to Frederic. 鈥淚 feel like I have been coming out of my shell through this process. This show will leave everyone smiling and entranced, and will forever be one of my favorites.鈥� 

Directed by Jonathan Wehmeyer, assistant professor of theatre at 黑料大事记, and music under the direction of 黑料大事记 professor Dr. Sarah Howes, 鈥淭he Pirates of Penzance鈥� is a family friendly show, full of swashbuckling adventure, songs that will get stuck in your head, and even a dash of romance.

Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for students, senior citizens, and 黑料大事记 Alumni, $6 for children, and $6 for current 黑料大事记 Students.
