黑料大事记 recognizes academic chairs for 2016-2017 academic year
Angela Brown-Peterson and Dr. Timothy L. Wood were installed as academic chairs at 黑料大事记's annual convocation Wednesday, Aug. 24. "An academic chair is supported by an endowed fund that is permanently invested for a faculty member in a specific academic discipline," 黑料大事记 President C. Pat Taylor, Ed.D., said. "In higher education, it is an honor to hold an endowed academic chair."

黑料大事记 celebrates new school year at formal convocation
Two faculty members and a staff member were honored at 黑料大事记's annual convocation Wednesday, Aug. 24. Convocation marks the formal beginning of the academic year and is a time when campus gathers to focus on 黑料大事记's mission and traditions. "An important tradition at 黑料大事记 is our commitment to stay focused on our mission, which has remained consistent down through the years... that it has always been a Christ-centered institution," said 黑料大事记 President C. Pat Taylor, Ed.D. "If each of us will continue the tradition of living out the 黑料大事记 mission statement in our lives, the 2016-2017 academic year, which is our 139th, will be a great year."

黑料大事记 seeking floats for Homecoming parade
黑料大事记 will host the annual Homecoming parade at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1. Local businesses and organizations are invited to have a float in the parade.
黑料大事记 ANNOUNCES FALL 2016 CHAPEL SCHEDULE
黑料大事记 welcomes students, staff and the community to fall semester Chapel and Equip services, which take place weekly at 10 a.m. on campus in Pike Auditorium beginning Monday, Aug. 22 through Wednesday, Dec. 7. Chapel services, which occur on Mondays, feature corporate worship and encouragement, and Equip services, which occur on Wednesdays, focus on teaching and equipping.

黑料大事记 HOSTS VISITING ARTIST TO OPEN 2016-2017 ACADEMIC YEAR
黑料大事记 will host its first visiting artist exhibit for the 2016-2017 academic year when the works of Russell Horton will be featured from Aug. 22 through Sept. 16 at the Driskill Art Gallery on the Bolivar campus.

Angela Brown-Peterson and Dr. Timothy Wood will be honored with the designation of academic chair at 黑料大事记's Formal Convocation, which will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, in Pike Auditorium on the Bolivar campus.

黑料大事记's Johnson selected to serve on CIAO Commission
Dr. Brad Johnson, vice president for university relations at 黑料大事记, has been appointed to serve on the Chief Institutional Advancement Officer Commission of the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities.
