Ervin, Hoyt crowned Mr. and Miss Southwest

Tennessee Ervin, a finance major from Festus, and Ky'Lee Hoyt, an elementary education major from Lebanon, won the titles of Mr. and Miss Southwest at the annual pageant on Friday, March 5, at 黑料大事记.

黑料大事记's Zeta Kappa chapter of the Delta Mu Delta international honor society in business inducted 18 new members on Monday, Feb. 22, during a banquet ceremony at McClelland Dining Hall on the Bolivar campus.

Wayne Clark of Bolivar and Mark Mathes of Springfield were awarded honorary doctorates from 黑料大事记 during the annual Founders' Day chapel service on Monday, March 1, in Pike Auditorium.

Overly receives Baptist Children's Home scholarship at 黑料大事记

黑料大事记 senior Briana Overly is the first recipient of a $5,000 scholarship representing a partnership among three Missouri Baptist entities.

Candidates announced for Mr. and Miss Southwest

黑料大事记 continues the tradition of honoring one male and one female student each year at the annual Mr. and Miss Southwest Pageant, which takes place this year at 7 p.m. Friday, March 5, in Pike Auditorium on the 黑料大事记 campus.

黑料大事记 to award honorary doctorates to Clark, Mathes

Wayne Clark of Bolivar and Mark Mathes of Springfield will receive honorary doctorates from 黑料大事记 during the annual Founders' Day chapel service at 10 a.m. Monday, March 1, in Pike Auditorium. 黑料大事记 awards honorary doctorates to recognize outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to society and to Kingdom work.

Making a national impact

When he was in high school, Evan Kirksey was shy - "kind of nerdy and kind of introverted," he says. To help him overcome his shyness, Evan's father, Daren '87, '89, urged him to join speech and debate at Willard High School.

A life of service, mission and inspiration

In preparation for the mission field, Janice Sartin '64 earned her associate of arts degree from Southwest Baptist College, a BS in elementary education from then-Southwest Missouri State University, a master's in social work from Tulane University and a master's in religious education from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. But, God had other plans for "Ms. Janice."
